All Saints Church - Thatched Roof appeal

Supporting the All Saints Church thatched roof fundraising project is simple.

We have created several ways for giving, ensuring that everyone can participate.

Raising £77,500 is a big task for a small church congregation but we have already succeed in raising £60,000 towards the thatch project.

  • Giving £21 would sponsor a bundle of reed thatch.
  • Giving £25 would help towards the thatching work
  • Giving £50 would help towards getting the thatch out of storage and onto the church roof!

Ways to give

  • Online Donations: Visit our fundraising website to make secure contributions of any amount www.stewardship.org.uk/pages/allsaintshorsford
  • Send a cheque: to Revd Margaret McPhee, payable to Horsford PCC, clearly marked 'Roof Repairs Project'  at The Rectory, 1B Gordon Godfrey Way, Horsford, NR10 3SG.
  • Give cash: by putting it an envelope in the church collection on Sunday, clearly marked, 'Roof Repairs Project'.
  • Every pound you are able to give will help keep All Saints church alive for another 900 years!  Thank you!
  • Donating on our Fundraising page on Stewardship is really easy and completely secure.  If you are a UK taxpayer, please confirm that you would like to reclaim Gift Aid on your donation. This will add 25p to every £1 you give.
  • Should we not raise sufficient funds to undertake the church roof repairs project, funds will be used towards the general funds of All Saints Church, Horsford.
  • Should this fundraiser for the church roof repairs project exceed its target, excess funds will be used towards the reordering project Phase 2 fund for All Saints Church, Horsford.

Leaving a Legacy to your local Parish Church

How you can make a lasting gift to your Parish

Many people give regularly to the life and work of the three parishes for Horsford, Felthorpe and Hevingham.

We are stewards of everything we own, not just our income, and gifts in wills are a natural part of that giving. They are a valuable and lasting way to invigorate the life of the three Parish churches and transform their futures.

A gift in your will can be an expression of your gratitude and thanksgiving towards God, and can help keep your local church alive, and transform its future. The three Church Council's for Horsford, Felthorpe and Hevingham have written a Legacy Policy confirming that they will use your gift, however large or small, to make a real difference to the church to which you leave your gift.

The policy of the three Church Council's is to use gifts in wills to help fund significant development projects in the Parish. Since needs change over the years, we encourage church members to leave a gift in thier will for the general purposes of the parish, rather than for a restricted purpose. The Rector or Churchwardens will discuss with executors the most appropriate use of the gift in the light of current projects and the donor’s known areas of interest in the church (e.g. children and youth, music, buildings).

Free online will writing service launched

The Church of England has partnered with Farewill, the UK’s favourite will writer, to offer a free online will writing service. Making a will and keeping it updated is an important part of Christian Stewardship and with Farewill individuals can do it from the comfort of their home, for free and in less than 30 minutes.
